Bjornson Consulting is grounded in over 13 years of leadership in domestic violence response and coordinated community systems. Tara Bjornson, M.A., is a recognized expert in domestic violence dynamics, coercive control, victim behavior, and trauma response, with experience spanning executive leadership, direct service, and system-level collaboration.
As Assistant Director of a domestic violence crisis center, she has led high-risk case review, facilitated multidisciplinary teams, and partnered with law enforcement, prosecutors, healthcare professionals, and advocacy organizations to strengthen coordinated response and offender accountability. Her work includes extensive training across disciplines, with a focus on practical application in complex and high-risk cases.
Tara provides expert witness testimony in both criminal and civil matters and has been qualified across multiple judicial districts. Her expertise is further informed by hands-on experience in forensic and human-centered interviewing, lethality risk assessment, and the identification of systemic gaps impacting victim safety.
She has also held leadership roles within Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART), Domestic Violence High-Risk Teams (DVHRT), and statewide human trafficking initiatives—bringing a comprehensive understanding of how systems intersect and where they break down.
